Hot Peppers

I was cooking at the Rose's house on my birthday.  I cut hot peppers with my bare hands at about 6 pm. Afterward they were burning and I couldn't get to sleep until about 4 in the morning! They finally subsided late morning the next day.

I tried everything to make the pain go away:
1. I rubbed some cream on my hands and then aloe and then topical steroids.
2. I put my hand in a glass full of Lactaid.
3. I put my hands in ice water for 10 minutes! and then directly into hot water, then back, but it didn't work like Google said it would.
4. I put my hands under running water. (the pain melted away, but it always came back).
5. I called my sister who works at a hospital (woke her up!) but she didn't know.
6. I rubbed a lemon on my hands. nope.
7. I put my hands in veggie oil (a nurse told me it would help), but it hurt more!
8. I called poison control.
9. I put hands in milk.
10. I put my hands in vingar.
11. I put warm water in a big bowl with some soap, put my hands in it and finally fell asleep holding my bowl and like four am.
12. My hands still burned when I woke up. I put on some Sarna cream. Relief.

The summer has been good.  I led a summer project to Rome and CM2007.  Then I joined the Chicago summer project.  Before you know it, the fall semester will start.

I'm reading the book about the history of KCCC that they gave us at CM2007.  Anyone else read it yet?

"THERULES:  Each player of this game starts with the 6 weird things about you. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state the rules clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says you are tagged in their comments and tell them to read your blog."

1. I like listening to classic rock on vinyl records (right now I’m listening to the Lynyrd Skynyrd Band’s Gold & Platinum released in 1979).

2. On a typical Sunday, I’m the only white guy at my church.
3. My Christmas tree is still up.
4. I’m a craigslist junkie.
5. I can twist my thumb so it’s backwards.
6. I have a root beer bottle collection (the latest edition was added Friday).

Dan just told me that the link to goodsearch.com didn't work on my last post.  It works now.

Here it is again www.goodsearch.com

I'm doing well.  I'm excited about the upcoming CM2007 Rome trip that I'm on.

Goodsearch for Goodnews

I'm now using GoodSearch.com to search the Internet.  Every time I do, a small amount of funds go to my church, Goodnews Evangelical Church (unless I choose a different organization).  I type in "Goodnews Evangelical Church" in the "Who do you search for?" box and it finds the church from the list.  I hope you'll give it a try and use the searches that you already do to support Goodnews Evangelical Church.

I've got it set as my default search engine in IE 7 and Firefox 2.

The site is powered by Yahoo!, so you'll get the same quality search results that you're used to. What's unique is that they have developed a way to direct money to Goodnews Evangelical Church with every click.  The more people who use this site, the more money will go to support Goodnews (when it's the organization selected). So please spread the word to your friends and family.

So here's what to do:
1.  Point your browser to www.goodsearch.com
2.  In the
"Who do you search for?" box type "Goodnews Evangelical Church".
3.  Search for something.
4.  To set it as your default search engine click on "Get Goodsearch for your IE, Firefox or Mac toolbar".
